Introduction
When your brand partner creates an offer, they are prompted to choose how they want you to earn commissions for the sales you generate. First, they choose a compensation type; then, they choose a commission type.
Compensation Types
Your brand partner has three options when choosing a compensation type:
- All Products means they use the same commission rate for every product they sell.
- SKU List means different groups of their products have different commission rates. The brand uses one or more lists of their products' Stock Keeping Units (SKU) to indicate which products are commissioned at which rate. Learn more about SKU-based offers.
- Dynamic Commissioning means they offer commission payouts based on specific information about the transaction that is important to them. For example, they may be targeting new customers or products belonging to specific categories. Learn more about dynamic commissioning.
Commission Types
Once they have selected a compensation type, the brand will then select one or multiple commission types. These are the commission types available; click the + for more information:
This option compensates you with a percentage of sales. It can be used in all products, SKU list, and dynamic commissioning offers.
If the brand is enabled for multi-touch commissioning, they can also choose to compensate creators responsible for the first click.
This option compensates you with the amount that the brand specifies for every item purchased or action completed by the referred customer. This is also known as a flat fee.
For example, a $1 flat fee commission structure means that you are paid $1 for every item a consumer purchases following your referral.
Flat fees can be used with all three of the compensation types listed above.
Also known as Cost per Click, this option compensates you with the amount that the brand specifies each time a referred visitor clicks on a link to the brand's site. It can be used in all products and SKU list offers only.
Also known as Cost per Mille, this option compensates you with the amount the brand specifies for every thousand impressions you deliver on their affiliate links. It can be used in all products and SKU list offers only.
Tiered Commissions
Brands can also create tiered offers that compensate creators with tiered commissions based on the amount of sales they generate. Typically, the greater the sales, the higher the commissions. Learn more about tiered offers and commissions.
