Add and Authenticate Social Channels

Introduction

Authenticating your social channels proves to your brand partner that you are the owner of your accounts and provides them with a clickable link to your social media profile. You can authenticate certain accounts when you apply for Partner Hub or when you update your channel details.

Instructions

Follow these steps to authenticate a channel after creating your Partner Hub account:

  1. Go to Account in the navigation header and click Social Channels.
  2. This takes you to your channel settings. Find the social media platform you want to add an account for and click Add.
  3. The related platform will open and prompt you to log in to your account. The exact steps vary by platform, so follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. You will also be asked for your permission to share relevant data. You must grant us full permissions in order to proceed. See the Granting Permissions section below for more information.

Once you have logged in successfully, you will be returned to Partner Hub. A message on your screen will confirm that your account has been authenticated and added to your profile.

Granting Permissions

When authenticating a social account, be sure to grant us access to all permissions. If you deny some of these permissions, your account onboarding may be blocked, you may see errors in Partner Hub, and our network might not have access to your latest social metrics and posts.

If you are having such issues:

  1. Return to your social channels page by going to Account in the navigation header and clicking Social Channels.
  2. Find the account and click Remove.
  3. Click Add to reauthenticate the account. This will trigger the request to grant permissions.

If these steps do not work, go to your account settings page on the relevant social platform and revoke authorization for Rakuten. Then, return to your social channels page and add the account back.
